Olly believes in creating gardens that last and giving new life through restoration. He respects what is around him, loves to create spaces that are in keeping with the local landscape and minimise the human impact upon the land. Lastly, he values passion. Passion for his work, passion for the ground and a passion to create change.
Olly offers a full garden design service from large estates to smaller suburban projects. He is able to advise owners or alternatively source and train staff. Olly enjoys building relationships with clients, encourages regular visits as well as offering a full follow up service while maintaining a healthy respect for his client's wishes and privacy.
Garden Design
Olly is a fully trained garden designer who can help you redesign your garden from start to finish. From an initial consultation to establish a firm brief, site analysis, concept drawings through to full design documents and planting plans. Enabling you to take the design to competitive tender. Olly will continue to work with you to ensure the finished garden meets the specification of his design.
Plant Consultancy
Olly can help you update your planting if you do not require a full garden design, a site visit to assess soil, aspect and conditions and develop a strong client brief. Whether its a small border or a whole garden, Olly will use his Horticulture expertise and understanding of his clients wishes to provide a new planting plan, source plants and organise planting if required.
Estate Management
Olly has previous experience managing estates across the Westcountry and in the Cotswolds. He understands the unique challenges that arise when taking care of large estates and historic properties. Olly enjoys building relationships through regular visits while maintaining a healthy respect for his client's wishes and privacy. Olly can help recruit, train and build skilled teams and help source plants, equipment and machinery.
Olly's Story
Olly is RHS trained and has over 20 years of hands-on experience working at historic houses in the South West and across the Cotswolds. From complex restorations to estate management, he has built a solid reputation for being passionate, discreet and above all committed to his clients. His ability to pass on this knowledge, build skilled teams and train apprentices has been honed through his teaching experience at the British Academy Of Floral Art. He also has extensive understanding of the hospitality sector after working for seven years as a head gardener at an award-winning country house venue. This enables Olly to not only advise private clients but bring his skill-set to the corporate world.
Olly is passionate about all aspects of gardening but he has a particular love for productive gardening after restoring several walled gardens. To create something that is long-lasting and beautiful while minimising human and chemical input is quite simply the dream!
It's also important to mention the other member of the team - Fern the dog!
